Axel Sola is one of three controversial debuting hunters on the UFC Paris of this Saturday (and there would have been a fourth if the weight cut of Losene Keita had not disappeared sideways). He is ready to undergo Rhys McKee on a map with head of Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho.

The UFC landed a strong signature for the France card with former Ares FC Lightweight Champion Axel Sola. His way here has not been easy; He fell, removed and let his cardio be deep in fighting, but every time he shown calmness and found answers. That ability to respond to adversity has been an important engine of his success.
Sola is a versatile hunter, but his clearest path to victory is on the feet. A talented Southpaw striker, he makes excellent use of his main jab and punishes opponents with rear kicks to both levels. His hand fights and foot positioning enables him to arrange reach, fall and open lanes. Offensive and defensive, he is sharp, with precise straight punches, smart lateral movement and the ability to prevent when they are caught. He is also effective in the conflict, lands the knees and elbows of the Thai plum, while grinding control through Underhooks and main positioning.
Sola’s struggling is striking defensively. He fights well against hands, uses Underhooks and a strong whizzer, and when he is removed, he quickly folds back. Attacking, he intervenes in the acceleration of conflict and chains together, as a supplement to his stroke with steady ground and pounds. Although his wrestling is not as polished as his striking, he is a solid positional hunter and generally completed.
The biggest question mark is his cardio. Although he has gone the distance several times and in most of his career steps fought in deep rounds, he slows down later. Interesting is that fatigue often makes him harder, which makes it sometimes thoughtful, but also create opportunities for finishing.
All in all, SOLA is an addition to a high level to the lightweight grid. His technical depth, adaptability and grit make him a prospect that could remain around the UFC for years.
His fight with Rhys McKee is a major test because he is a larger, more sustainable physical striker. McKee is 1-4 in the UFC and the only man he has beaten was a non-tested Daniel Frunza. Sola is the better technical and well -completed hunter. He has a good experience, but McKee even more. It would not surprise me if McKee Sola could drop and win damage. Sola -mixing in Takedowns would be ideal because McKee is struggling in that area. I’m lying this fight like a pick-em, but choose Sola because he has more ways to win
