Week 10 Streamers and stashes: I’m out

Week 10 Streamers and stashes: I’m out

6 minutes, 54 seconds Read

The trade deadline has shaken things up. From wide receiver shifts to more major injuries, the fantasy landscape continues to change. To keep you informed, every week I’ll bring you an article that answers two simple questions: who should I stream this week and who should I save for the future?

To keep things simple, we’ll define a streamer as any player you wouldn’t normally pick up and who is a viable option this week. They may be on your bench or they may be on waivers depending on your league. We’ll define a stash as any player you can potentially find on waivers that you should save for the future, either because there’s a favorable matchup ahead or because they could become a future fantasy starter.

QB streamers:

Jaxson Dart (NYG): If Joe Flacco can put up 40+ on the Chicago Bears, can you imagine what Jaxson Dart can do? I imagine his lack of receiving talent probably won’t produce 40 points. But his excellent rushing in what will likely be a shootout nonetheless makes Dart have a great start to Week 10.

JJ McCarthy (MIN): I was tentatively optimistic about JJ McCarthy’s participation last week and he far exceeded expectations. The Vikings defeated the Lions and the youngster scored 20 fantasy points. He’s available in most leagues (assuming you didn’t take my advice and put him away last week) and gets a good quarterback matchup against the Ravens. He’s a good, cheap streaming option.

QB Save:

Aaron Rodgers (PIT): Aaron has been disappointing from a fantasy perspective this season, but he did have one bright spot in Week 7 against the Bengals. He faces them again in Week 11, making Rodgers a viable stock, especially if you plan on relying on Daniel Jones (who has a Week 11 bye) for the rest of this season.

RB streamers:

Kyle Monangai (CHI): If D’Andre Swift remains out, this is a much clearer decision than when I did last week. But even if Swift plays, with the Bears facing the Giants, I’ll start with Monangai anyway.

Aaron Jones (MIN): The box score doesn’t show it, but Aaron Jones was the clear lead in Week 9 before an injury brought Jordan Mason back into the mix. In a potential shootout against the Ravens, who are particularly weak against the run, I expect a lot more Jones than Mason and a particularly efficient RB performance in Week 10.

Devin Singletary (NYG): Let’s also go to the lower committee on the other side of the Giants/Bears game. Chicago is weak against all fantasy positions, making Devin Singletary a viable deep streamer this week. He was surprisingly active last week, especially on the goal line, and is a particularly solid option in non-PPR competitions.

RB repositories:

Trey Benson (ARI): Trey Benson shouldn’t be available in your league, but according to NFL.com, he is available in almost half. He’s a great addition as he should be back from injury within a week or two and slot into a Top 20 fantasy RB role.

Jaret Patterson (LAC): Kimani Vidal was terrible against one of the weakest defenses in the league last week, leading to an increase in Jaret Patterson’s touches. It’s not impossible that Patterson gets more involved if Vidal has another bad game.

Emari Demercado (ARI): Emari Demercado was the surprise starter against the Cowboys and ended up getting more touches than Zonovan Knight. That could remain the case going forward, making the receiving back a viable stock in deeper leagues and a desperation streamer.

Running Backs get injured more often than any other player in fantasy, with the average Top 36 running back in fantasy missing two games per season. For that reason, the best bet in fantasy is to use running backs who are one injury away from a down role. Each week I’ll list my favorite RB stocks, including the players you won’t get to play with most weeks.

Top Handcuffs: Blake Corum, Brian Robinson, RJ Harvey, Isaiah Davis, Emanuel Wilson, Bhayshul Tuten, Tank Bigsby, Ollie Gordon, Ameer Abdullah, Keaton Mitchell, Raheem Mostert, Devin Neal

WR streamers:

Troy Franklin (DEN): Troy Franklin has been Bo Nix’s top target in every game since Week 5, making the breakout star a starter almost every week. But this week there’s even more reason to start the youngster as he faces a top-five WR matchup in the Raiders.

Darius Slayton (NYG): You put him away last week, now it’s time to start Darius Slayton. I expect a shootout against the Bears (as I’ve said at least three times so far) and the Giants’ deep threat is always a good opportunity to break up a big play against weak secondary players.

Olamide Zaccheaus (CHI): Olamide Zaccheaus has been the Bears WR3 all season, but he has been particularly benefiting from Luther Burden’s injury of late, scoring 15 goals in the last two weeks. Did I mention I think the Bears/Giants game could be a big scorer? Well, Zacheaus can benefit from it too!

WR repositories:

Parker Washington (JAC): The Jaguars slot receiver is where the value lies in a Liam Coen offense and that honor has fallen to Parker Washington since Travis Hunter’s injury. I don’t feel good about starting him with the Texans, especially with Jakobi Meyers arriving in town, but he’s definitely worth stocking up for the future. But if Brian Thomas Jr. misses week 10 with his mild ankle sprain, I would consider streaming Washington immediately.

TE streamers:

Kyle Pitts (ATL): The Colts are particularly vulnerable to tight ends and Kyle Pitts has scored 26 goals in his last three games. In fact, he played all but three snaps last week! He’s almost a must-start for me in week 10.

Cade Otton (TB): Cade Otton is coming off a solid outing in Week 10 against the Jets and has quietly benefited from the numerous receiver injuries in Tampa Bay. He has consistently reached 40 yards over the past five weeks, racking up double-digit PPR points in every game.

TE storage:

Luke Musgrave (GB): Although Luke Musgrave was drafted ahead of Tucker Kraft in the 2023 NFL Draft, he is nowhere near his injured teammate’s receiver. But he will have every opportunity to develop in that role this season, with Kraft out for the rest of the year. Musgrave has a top ten advantage every week, but a hugely low bottom. I’ll have to see before I trust him in my lineup.

K streamers:

Cairo Santos (CHI): Another player from the Giants/Bears game? Shocking! Cairo Santos, combined with Jake Moody (who kicked for him during his injury), is a Top 3 kicker of the season. This is an obvious choice for week 10.

Will Reichard (MIN): This is a riskier upside pick. Will Reichard is a good kicker with a big leg and has a history of top weeks against good teams. I’m taking a punt (bad pun intended) on him this week.

Daylight Savings Streamers:

Cleveland Browns DST (CLE): The Jets blew up their roster at the trade deadline, while Justin Fields was a gold mine for opposing DST. Starting the Browns DST feels like a pretty easy decision.

Carolina Panthers DST (CAR): Tyler Shough was far from special in his starting debut and now loses deep threat receiver Rashid Shaheed and starting left guard Trevor Penning. I love the Panthers DST in this matchup.

Please note: I will not be offering kicker or DST stocks. You should never bench kickers or DSTs in redraft leagues. There are virtually no exceptions. Please don’t do it.
