CNN is denounced for “humiliating things” and “nonsense” after a prime time panel discussion about the changes of President Trump in the Smithsonian Museums led to a star, Abby Phillip, who had closed a fitness influencer, Jillian Michael, then slamned slavery.
In a panel discussion about “Newnight with Abby Phillip” about Mr Trump’s decision that he is launching a review of all Smithsonian’s museum exhibitions-with the aim of removing “division or partisan stories” the mostly left-wing panel members on the president while Mrs. Michaels listened.
A Liberal Democratic Congressman, Ritchie Torres, claimed that Mr. Trump was ‘poisoned’ the institution.
A Democratic strategist, Julie Roginsky, claimed that it was part of a larger campaign by Mr. Trump to change American history and even “whitewash” slavery at the Smithsonian.
Then Mrs. Michaels tried to prevent that argument. “No, he’s not,” said Mrs. Michaels.
“You can not just bind imperialism and racism and slavery to one race, which is almost what each exhibition does,” said Mrs. Michaels.
“Jillian, I am surprised that you are trying to litigate who the beneficiary of slavery was,” Mrs. Phillip told Mrs. Michaels.
“It’s not me,” Mrs. Michaels.
“What do you say in the context of American history by saying that they were white people who suppress black people?” Asked Mrs. Phillips.
“Every thing is like:” Oh, no, no, no, this is all because white people are bad, “Mrs. Michaels replied.” That’s just not the truth. “
Mrs. Michaels then pointed to other Smithsonian exhibitions that she said they were problematic, including one who stated that it is “complex to do in the sport.”
“It’s not complex, it’s fundamental science,” said Mrs. Michaels. “Is it fair to let biological men compete against biological women in sport? No, but why is this in the Smithsonian?”
Mrs. Phillip cuts down Mrs. Michaels and said, “We don’t have time to litigate all of this.”
Mrs. Michaels replied: “Of course not, because you then lose the argument.”
CNN was ridiculed online after the segment. The Progressive Tennessee Holler X account said it was humiliating that CNN “Nonsense gave this Air Time Night After Night.”
Others called for CNN to ban Mrs. Michaels, but after her performance she received an outpouring of support from conservatives.
A former lawyer for Mr Trump, Jenna Ellis, placed an extensive clip of Mrs. Michaels from the segment and stated: “She destroys their story completely.”
Another commentator stated that Mrs. Michaels was ‘fierce, convincing and prepared’.
A conservative podcast -guest, Benny Johnson, posted: “Jillian Michaels has completely demolished the whole panel and let them nonsensical screaming.”
Mrs Michaels later posted a photo of a Smithsonian exhibition to back up the point she tried to make on CNN. She said that the exhibition about Cubans who fled to the United States had no mention that they were trying to get away from the communist regime of Fidel Castro and, instead, blamed the American intervention in Latin -America.
Mrs. Michaels says that explanation “reduces a complex history to a story in which only the United States destroyed developing countries.”
