Suryavanshi had driven himself to 18 out of five in the first, but had to drop back soon afterwards. It was the third wicket he fell for India Under-19. Suryavanshi was Raza’s second wicket as he had earlier dismissed skipper Ayush Mhatre for two off seven.
Talking about the match, Pakistan eventually defeated India by a margin of 191 runs at the ICC Academy in Dubai. Chasing a mammoth 348, India were bowled out for 156 in 26.2 overs. Raza finished with a four-wicket haul to his name, while Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Huzaifa Ahsan secured two wickets each.
Deepesh Devendran, who had collected three wickets in his 10-over quota earlier in the match, finished as India’s top scorer with 36 off 16. No one, except him, got past the 30-run mark in what was a disappointing performance for India.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan piled up a massive 347/8 in 50 overs on the back of Sameer Minhas’ 113-172. He was on his way to a double century but was dismissed against the run of play in the 43rd over. Minhas’ thrilling stroke consisted of seventeen fours and nine sixes. He finished as the competition’s top scorer with 471 runs at an average of 157 in five innings.
