Djokovic took some time off the court after winning his 101st ATP title in Athens in November. He returned to action a few days ago in the Greek capital before moving to Dubai for more serious training exercises.
The video gives fans a glimpse of his meticulous preparation during a sunset practice session at Atlantis The Royal Resort. The 38-year-old is working hard on a new season in the Tour, which starts on January 12 in Adelaide.
The footage shows Novak hitting forehand and backhand on a blue hard court, framed by palm trees and fading light. The veteran will use the coming weeks to hone his timing and controlled intensity.
Djokovic’s team will also monitor his sore shoulder and ensure he puts the physical setbacks behind many problems in 2025. As in Athens, Novak combines comfort with elite conditions in Dubai, where he lifted five ATP trophies between 2009 and 2020.
The climate, facilities and privacy in the desert gem allow the legend to fine-tune his game while gradually increasing the workload. The ultimate goal is to arrive in Melbourne at 100% and chase the 11th Australian Open crown.
At 38 and a half years old, Djokovic still views preparation as an evolving science rather than a routine. Dubai marks the moment when touch, balance and shot tolerance become central.
The Serbian will compete in Adelaide the week before top seed Melbourne enters the ATP 250 draw and hopes to lift his third trophy at the event. He will then focus on the first Major of the season, keen to challenge Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
