The San Francisco Standard’s Tim Kawakami On Monday that Golden State was planning to make Kuminga at the beginning of the 2025-26 season, despite attempts to finish a drawing and trade to give him a new start elsewhere.

“The word I got when I checked in on Sunday with a Warriors source: Kuminga will not be traded this summer,” wrote Kawakami in a column published on Monday. “He will be back in the schedule of the Warriors to start the season. The deadline for Kuminga to sign his qualifying offer is October 1 and he has indicated on social media that he would be willing to do it.

He on average 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season.

The Warriors have tried to make a drawing and trade in which the limited free agent is involved, although it is suggested in the column that it was not the preferred option of the organization or team owner Joe Lacob.

“But several sources have indicated that the Warriors have been unresolved from the start about the general idea of a Kuminga sign and trade,” wrote Kawakami. “The broad context is that Joe Lacob remains a fan of Kuminga’s and is determined to keep the 22-year-old on the Roster or to get value in it. And he is willing to wait for it.”

The kings and suns are reportedly interested in working out a deal, but the Warriors are not interested in one of the packages they have received.

There is still a permanent range of two years, $ 45 million Kuminga rejected earlier because of the insistence of a team option for the second season and the Warriors who want him to drop the built-in no-trade clause that would come with the deal.

Although things tend to change as the crunch time approaches, Kuminga seems to start the new season with the Warriors for the time being.
