MMA legend Wanderlei Silva plans to get justice against Rafael Freitas after he was brutally abused after a trapalification loss in boxing.
The return from Wanderlei Silva to combat sports via the boxing ring could not have gotten much worse against Acelino Freitas in Brazil last weekend.
Silva, who made his exhibition Bok debut against Freitas during a Fight Night event last weekend in Sao Paulo. Silva was disqualified after three head bumps on Freitas before chaos followed in the ring.
Silva, Freitas and their respective teams entered a total fight. While Silva did not blow during the incident, Acelin’s son Rafael accused him and hit him with a right hand that opened a nasty cut on Silva’s eyelid.
Silva suffered a broken nose in the fight and got a heavy suspension for his role in the fight. Silva and Freitas received 180-day suspensions through the Brazilian national boxing council.
But Silva does not intend to close the door of the incident soon, because he is planning to bring Rafael to court.

‘I had several [work things] To do, but I can’t do it because of my face, “said Silva.” I can’t sleep, I have a lot of pain, in such a discomfort. That can’t stay that way. That was undoubtedly a criminal act and every criminal act must be assessed by the legal system. And I go after justice.
“I broke my two orbital [bones]I broke my nose in four places. I was attacked in a criminal way by ‘Popo’s’ son, who invaded the ring. He invaded the ring that struck me with two punches to the back of the head. Then he landed the slap that opened a seventh socket around my eye.
“I am very upset, I am really injured,” Silva continued. “On the inside injured, injured on the outside. Looking at that scene, I lay on the floor and people who were not even security because the event had no security – drag me, anyway? What a terrible scene, you know?”
