A recent report looked at the wage accounts of all Premier League clubs.
The report related to all 20 teams that participated in the 2024/25 season.
Van Manchester City at the very top when it came to wage accounts, Ipswich at the very bottom.
As you can see below, the wages of £ 224 million from Man City were more than five and a half times what Ipswich’s was.
So which clubs performed better than (and under performance) compared to their wage accounts?
Although at the moment more pertinent, one of the major problems that Newcastle United has come across this summer is when they try to sign some of their top goals, certain other clubs are prepared and able to pay much higher wages.
You can see the situation that Newcastle United is when you compare wages below.
Although, as you can see, give me sport say that some of the cited figures are based on estimates, it is generally accepted that when it comes to wage accounts, Newcastle United was around that eighth or ninth position, certainly not top seven. This simply strengthens what a great job that Eddie Howe has done.
