Wafcon 2024: What motivated us against Zambia – Super Falcons Captain, Ajibade

Rasheedat Ajibade had said that the boasting comments from the camp of Zambia have motivated the Super Falcons players in the quarter-final match on Friday in the Africa Cup of Nations of the Women’s Africa’s Africa.

Despite the parading of contesting, two of the hottest attackers in Africa, Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji, the copper queens of Zambia were hammered 5-0 by the Super Falcons.

Ajibade, who was appointed player of the match, gave the assists for the second and fifth goals of the Falcons scored by Esther Okoronkwo and Folashade IJamilusi.

The scors took the well -organized officer for Chueguawize and Tosin Demehin.

But before the game, the Zambian camp believed that they needed what was needed to face the Super Falcons.

Star Striker and reigning ladies African Player of the Year, Banda, poured that Zambia was not afraid of the Falcons.

“We are not afraid, but we respect them because we know that the game is 90-plus, so we are going to speak on the field. We want to hunt for it,” said Banda during her press conference for the game.

“As the coach said, we are so hungry to the game. You will be there to testify. The game is so open to everyone and it is a good game to see.

“By my side, and on behalf of the team, we had a very good recovery of the group stage. In the quarterfinals we came to rest for a few days and we had a good recovery, which means that we are good as a team. We are back with a good moral and look forward to the match of tomorrow (Friday).”

The Zambian coach Nora Hauptle stated that her team would hunt the side of Justin Madugu.

“Of course we are here to hunt. We respect that Nigeria is a multiple winner of this tournament. I think they are the favorites in this game, but I can assure you that my team is very hungry; we are here to hunt.”

Ajibade responded to the statements from the opposition camp and said that she and her teammates encouraged to go all out for the victory.

“There was a lot of talk from the Zambia camp and we heard it all,” said Ajibade in the press conference after the game. “It was a great motivation for us in this game.”

Prior to Friday’s collision, Zambia (six goals) scored in all their three games in the group stage.

Banda (three goals) and Kendananji (three goals) were responsible for the six goals scored by De Copper Queens.

The 5-0 score of the Super Falcons is the highest target margin in a single match at the Wafcon this year.
