A recall was published on Thursday for Woolite Delicates detergent due to a risk of exposure to bacteria that can cause “serious infection”.

The voluntary recall applies to more than 16,000 50-fluid-ounce bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent sold exclusively on Amazon in January, according to a notification from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Consumers who have bottles with lottercodes S24364, S24365 and S24366, which are printed on the top of the bottle, must immediately stop using the detergent.

The CPSC said that the products could contain pseudomonas species of bacteria, including Pseudomonas Oleovorans, an environmental organism that is found on a large scale in soil and water.

“People with weakened immune system or external medical devices that are exposed to the bacteria run a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment,” the agency said.

The bacteria can enter the body through the eyes or through a break in the skin, said civil servants.

People with a healthy immune system are usually not influenced by the bacteria.

No incidents or injuries have been reported from Friday.

Customers who have purchased the product are assigned by the CPSC to contact the manufacturer, Reckitt, for a full refund.

Ragers are obliged to write their name and write in a permanent marker on the back of the bottle, take a photo with the UPC and Lot Code visible and the photo e -mail to consumercare_usa@reckitt.com.

Once a reimbursement has been received, they can get off the product by closing the bottle firmly and throwing them in the garbage.

The CPSC warns customers not to empty the bottle before throwing it away and not recycling the bottle.
