The recall replaces a recall for a Volvo rearview camera in 2025, because customers continued to complain about rearview camera defects after the vehicles needed repairs.

According to Volvo, an investigation was opened in July 2025 following complaints, but engineers determined that parking assistance warnings, automatic rear braking and cross-traffic alert will still function if the vehicle is equipped with these features.

One of these should automatically stop the vehicle when an obstacle is detected.

A camera malfunction triggers a message that reads: ‘Camera is temporarily unavailable.’

A recall of Volvo rearview cameras in Canada affects 30,266 vehicles.

Volvo expects to send recall letters for the reversing camera on February 16, 2026. However, the camera software update can be performed over the air or by dealers.

Owners can contact Volvo at 800-458-1552 and refer to the rear view camera recall number R10333.
