Trump’s meeting with Putin
“There were many, many points that we agree,” Trump said at a joint press conference with Putin. “I would say a few big saying that we did not completely get there, but we have made some progress. So there is no deal until there is a deal.”
In short comments, Putin said he expected that Ukraine and his European allies would accept the results of the negotiation of the US Russia, so they warned not to “torpedo” the progress in the direction of a resolution.
Both parties deny focusing on citizens in the war that Russia launched with its smaller neighbor in February 2022. But thousands of citizens died in the conflict, the vast majority of them Ukrainian.
Meeting with NATO leaders
When his plane landed, Pers Secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said Trump that Trump was on the phone with NATO leaders – including the German Chancellor Friidrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer – after a long -term phone call with Zenskyy.
Putin’s Foreign Business Consultant, Ushakov, said on Saturday in the Russian state of television that a potential trilateral encounter between Trump, Putin and Zenskyy was not raised in discussions in the US and Russia.
