Mohamed Salah is one of the greatest players he has ever played for LIVERPOOL ever since he made that shock move to join from Roman years ago, and in that time he has scored loads of goals and won plenty of trophies.
But after having one of his best seasons at Liverpool last year and then signing a new contract at Anfield, Salaha looked nothing like the superstar who could easily score 30 goals a season for the Reds.
That led to some shocking reports that he could leave in January. There were even reports that Saudi Teams and PSG were open to trying to get some deals done, but ultimately he stuck with LIVERPOOL and is now fighting to get back to his best.
However – according to Foot marketSaudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have opened talks with Liverpool over a possible deal for Salah
And asked about Salah’s plans, Reds skipper Van Dijk said: “The situation is what it is. The full focus is on trying to make this season a success first and we’ll see how the season ends then and you never know what happens.”
“I always want Mo to stay, because I am a good friend of his and we have experienced the highs and the lesser highs – I don’t want to call them lows – together for so many years. Like me, he still has a year, so we will see.”
The Dutch defender added: “Mo is still so important for us. Last week he had another assist and broke another record and he is still the leader and important for me personally, as captain, to have him around and on the pitch and his presence benefits the team.”
“He always gives the team more than just goals. There is clearly a lot of attention on his goals at the moment and that is part of his life, because he sets the bar so extremely high, so if he does not score as much, he is criticized.”
“He has to stay calm and try to be important with everything he can still do and there is still so much. He is important for us, both on and off the field.”
