Vince Carter strives to learn what is needed to succeed as co-owner of the Buffalo Bills

Now that Famer Vince Carter’s NBA Hall is part of the ownership of Buffalo Bills, he is taking the time to learn more about the team, so that he can be effective behind the scenes while embracing his new role.

According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Carter is excited About being the owner of the NFL team, and he wants to ensure that his investment is not only justified, but wants to ensure that he understands the case of the franchise.

“I feel that if I go invest in it, I want to have knowledge and know as much as possible,” Carter said the media outlet while participating in his annual youth basketball camp in Daytona Beach. “I treat this like me as a player, come in and learn nuances. This is one in the same.”

Carter has always been interested in owning a professional sports team, but he thought it would be in the sport in which he made his career, basketball. His cousin, colleague NBA Hall of Famer Tracey McGrady, informed him of a chance to invest in the bills. Both went the chance and could buy in the franchise in December 2024.

“I am very happy to be part of it,” he said. “I never thought in my wildest dreams to be part of a group of ownership in football. Fortunately I played it (until after my first year on the mainland of high school), so I feel at ease to be in it. But I didn’t think this opportunity would arise, and it did.”

He does not take this lightly because he stated that he spoke with the managers and the owner of the accounts and spoke with them to get a better understanding of the way the team works.

“I sat at the GM, president, owner, the big boss,” said Carter. “I sat with everyone and we have had conversations, and I listen and learn. I don’t just want a name on it. I want to be involved.”
