The very obvious star player of Minnesota is Justin Jefferson, a player who breaks records almost at a weekly pace. He is also the last Vikings player who wins some silverware when he distinguished the attacking player of the year after his excellent campaign of 2022.
Vikings use a “under-the-radar star”
Apart from Jefferson, the club has a number of other star players under contract. Most would probably mention Christian Darrisaw, Harrison Smith, Andrew van Ginkel, Jonathan Greenard and Tj Hockenson.

Garrett Podell van CBS Sport Nominated a star under the radar: defensive Tackle Javon Hargrave.
He wrote: “Defensive Tackle Javon Hargrave was once considered one of the better players in his position in the entire NFL. He registered two Pro Bowl selections in a wingspan of three years from 2021 to 2023, a piece that also reached the Super Bowl in 2022 in 2022 in 2022 with the Philles. -Injury had ended his 2024 season after three games, they kicked him to the sidewalk.
Hargrave was a decent player for the Steelers, and he was even better in Philadelphia on their stacked line of defense. The 49ers added him in 2023 to bring their line of defense to a different level. The result was a super bowl appearance in his first season with the club, followed by a lost season in 2024 because of the first major absence in his career.
The torn triceps cost him except for one. Now, at the age of 32, a bounce back is not guaranteed, regarding the Vikings. Yet, given his health and production for the injury, it is a solid gamble.

More from Podell: “Minnesota has signed Hargrave for a two -year contract of $ 30 million with $ 19 million, this season completely guaranteed, and if he can bounce back to perform at his level of a few years ago, Hargrave could again be a star in Vikings Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores’ Scheme.”
Hargrave played in 130 career matches with 115 starts. He registered 45.5 bags in those competitions and collected 380 tackles over the years. Impressive: he had never played fewer than 15 games in a year before 2024.
The Vikings have missed an interior distinction for years and they finally got one. Hargrave was assumed to come after the quarterback; That’s what he does. The defensive Lineman produced seasons with 52, 57 and 61 QB pressure between 2021 and 2023. Only for context would each of those figures have arranged him for Andrew van Ginkel, only behind Jonathan Greenard on the 2024 Vikings.
He will collaborate with fellow-free-agent newcomer Jonathan Allen in an attempt to breathe new life into the interior pass in the Twin Cities. Alan Page, John Randle, Keith Millard and Kevin Williams left too much of an inheritance to continue to ignore the interior playmaking.

Vikings team captain Harrison Phillips recently said about his new teammate: “One of the things of ‘Graves specific is his get off […] If you have a player who is so vertically disturbing, there are areas to overlap players. So they become so vertical that they might take your husband for you immediately. ‘
In recent years, Phillips had to be something that he is not, and that is an interior rusher. He specializes in stopping the run, but the franchise had no one like Hargrave in the building. With the two new boys in the neighborhood, Phillips can concentrate more on his strength.
Hargrave assertions A few days after his signing in March: “If you have a defensive tackle that can hurry and cause havoc, it is a good thing for the defense. I think it really doesn’t matter when you’re smaller; they watch the football player more than just at the size of the football player.”
It is easy to see Hargrave return to his old self, at least to a certain extent. Although he was perhaps no longer as explosive as he was a few years ago, he still has to give a spark and give the defense a different dimension.
Hargrave is a double pro-bowler.
