The Boise Police Department (BPD) said the next day that safety remains their top priority while members of the community collect for memorial events, including 9/11 and Kirk.
“Nowadays, as our community collects for 9/11 reminder events, other activities and other vigilance for candlelight, the police of Boise will retain a strong and visible presence,” the department said in a post the next day. “In the light of the events in Utah and the murder of Charlie Kirk, our officers actively work with organizers of events to ensure safe environments for everyone present. Public safety remains our top priority.”

BPD said that, according to local media, Wilson has a history of activism and earlier arrests. In 2021 he was reportedly arrested for destroying the sitting Lincoln statue in Julia Davis Park, lubricating with paint and stool and placing improvised signs on it.
He was sentenced to 32 hours of community service and ordered the city to pay $ 91.96 in refund, Kivi added.
