Video: Arne Slot makes worrying claim about Alexander Isak’s injury against Tottenham

Liverpool manager Arne Slot sounded less than optimistic about Alexander Isak’s injury when he spoke at his post-match press conference against Tottenham.

The Reds boss praised Isak for his goal in the match victory over Spurswhere the Swedish international came off the bench and shot home after a nice pass from Florian Wirtz.

However, Isak immediately suffered a lot of pain and was unable to continue as his bad luck with injuries since joining Liverpool continues.

Arne Slot’s pessimistic Alexander Isak injury update

Watch the video below where Slot spoke to reporters after the game and admitted that it’s usually not a good sign when a player can’t even try to come back and continue playing.

Conor Bradley did that before he was eventually replaced, but Isak clearly had to leave the field immediately, although Slot also emphasized that he does not yet have a more concrete medical update…

Isak has struggled since joining LFC from Newcastle United in the summer, but a large part of that is because he has struggled to stay fit.

The 26-year-old had a disrupted pre-season and hasn’t really been able to recover since, while he also fell victim to a pretty poor challenge today despite still being able to put the ball into the back of the net.

That’s the kind of goal Isak really needed to boost his confidence. So Liverpool fans will be hoping this doesn’t get too serious so he can come back as soon as possible and try to maintain his improved form.
