A new report has now detailed which Premier League teams have been most affected by injuries (and not) this 2025/2026 season.
The report published by BBC Sport.
You will be VERY interested to see which of the Premier League teams have been most affected so far.
Ben Dinnery is an industry expert when it comes to analyzing injuries in football and interpreting the data. He is also a big fan of Newcastle United.
In the BBC Sports Report Ben is quoted:
“We work in a competition that is considered the most intense and dynamic, and that is reflected in the statistical analysis of high-intensity sprints and runs, but also in the reduction of recovery times. You then throw the football calendar into the mix and they come together to create an environment where players are pushed and sometimes broken, because they are physically unable to tolerate those demands.”
Which of the Premier League teams have lost the most days due to injuries so far in this 2025/26 season?
640 days Newcastle United
625 tracks
603 Arsenal
580Chelsea
514 Brighton
512 Man’s City
510 Forest
432 villa
426Leeds
380 Wolves
377 Fulham
362 Bournemouth
354Liverpool
341 Man U
339 Palace
Westham 302
287Everton
262Brentford
252 Sunderland
219 Burnley
The BBC Sports report stating: ‘Newcastle have lost the most days to injuries of any club, and Eddie Howe’s side are stretched thin as they continue to battle on four fronts.’
To me, this just highlights what a brilliant job Eddie Howe has done this season (as well as the previous seasons).
So many obstacles came his way, from Alexander Isak to just one of his six summer signings having a pre-season with their new NUFC teammates, plus many other problems.
Including the worst record of any Premier League team when it comes to injuries this season (also interesting to see how lucky Sunderland have been, only Burnley has been luckier when it comes to injuries).
