West Brom -Baas Ryan Mason is a ‘very influential’ figure, according to To callum styles.
West Brom has appointed the 34-year-old as their head coach for the new 2025/26 Championship season. WBA gave him a three -year -old deal at the Hawthorns who run until June 2028.
Mason left his role as a back room employee at Tottenham Hotspur to take over the baggies. He withdrew from his playing career in 2016.
Styles said, according to a report from the Express & Star: ‘He is Very influential and has arrived with clear new ideas. He tries to get the message very assertive, with clarity. It has been a relief. Hopefully his tactics and how he wants to play all the players we have and we can continue.
“For me it seems to him of course what he does. It is not as if it is new to him, he has been coaching for years. He has not been involved in management for 20 years – but it just seems so natural to him. Hopefully we all get on the same page and we will achieve big things.”
He added: “He has coached some of the biggest names in football. Hopefully we can take a step to go to that level. If we can follow his plan, we are on the right track.”

Mason was lent by Spurs to the city of Yeovil, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall, FC Lorient and Swindon Town to get some experience under his belt. Hull City then permanently broke him up in 2016 after their promotion to the top flight, but he had to hang his boots early after a serious head injury.

West Brom is preparing for a new season
West Brom has come on the market this summer to get Nat Phillips and Aune Heggebo to strengthen their team. WBA has also broken ties with players, including Semi Ajayi, Grady Diegana and John Swift.
The baggies have the chance to make more signing sessions in the coming weeks. The window closes on Monday 1 September at 7 p.m.
The Mason men start the next term with a home conflict against Blackburn Rovers next weekend and will want to start with a victory for their own fans. They then have a Carabao Cup strop on their own patch against colleague Second Tier Side Derby County.
