Vercel’s AI-powered v0 development platform focuses on vibe coding and comes equipped with security and integrations aimed at shipping real software rather than just creating demos, the company said. The platform has been rebuilt from the ground up to bridge the gap between prototype and production for vibe coding in the enterprise, the company said.
Called the “new v0” and detailed in a Blog post from February 3the update evolves the vibe coding platform for building production apps and agents. Developers can log in v0.app to give the release a try. For security, v0 is built on Vercel’s core cloud platform, where security can be configured for common compliance needs, Vercel said. Users can set deployment security requirements, securely connect to corporate systems, and set appropriate access controls for each app. Secure integrations with Snowflake and AWS databases are also included, allowing you to build custom reports, add rich context to internal tools, and automate data-driven processes. All code generated by v0 is designed to plug into Vercel’s standard Git-based workflows and the preview and production deployment infrastructure on the Vercel cloud platform.
The new v0 release also has a new sandbox-based runtime that can import any GitHub repository and automatically retrieve environment variables and configurations from Vercel. Each prompt generates production-ready code in a real environment, and it lives in the user’s repository, Vercel said. A new Git panel lets developers create a new branch for each chat, open pull requests for a project’s main branch in the connected GitHub repository, and deploy to merge. According to Vercel, anyone on a team, not just engineers, can ship production code through the right Git workflows. Future plans call for developers to be able to build end-to-end agentic workflows in v0, including AI models, and deploy them to Vercel’s self-driving infrastructure.
