I like the smell of coffee and I like drinking coffee (with butter!). But it turns out that coffee grounds are also a great body scrub. It not only removes dead skin cells, but it can also help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Coffee scrub for healthier skin

Coffee beans are full of antioxidants and also have advantages when externally used. I even made a coffee by drenched under eye cream to tighten tired eyes. So how can a coffee body scrub help with your skin care routine?

Massaging the skin helps to stimulate blood and lymph stream. This increase in circulation can help reduce cellulite, to improve circulation and cellular detox and make the skin feel more flexible. Coffee also has antioxidants that help with surplus free radicals and have a Tigthing effect thanks to the contracting properties.

If you have dry skin, you want to be sure that you drink moisturizing minerals, but scrubs can still be part of your body care. The oils in this coffee rubs are hydrating and a great way to get more self -care. If you are dealing with acne, it can prevent the skin and hydrated by pimples. However, diet is still the best way to tackle the cause of acne!

If you have acne -sensitive skin and want to use it as a face scrub, you can exchange the coconut oil for slightly less comedegenics, such as jojoba or grape seed oil. The scrub will not be that solid, but it will still work.

Coffee scrub -ingredients

This Sugar Scrub combines some of my favorite natural beauty ingredients. This is what they are and how they help your skin

  • Coconut oil – for natural nourishing skin. Because coconut oil is fixed at room temperature, it gives the bushes more body. Some people really find coconut oil drying, but you can exchange it for something like olive oil or sweet almond oil for your skin type. Be careful, because stronger smelling oils can influence the final scrub scent!
  • Ricinus oil – A natural contracting oil that is great for the skin color. I sometimes also use it in my facial cleansing regime … and by regime I mean a super-simple one-step process that makes the skin feel great. Ricinus oil is great for stains and detoxification of the skin.
  • Coffee- The caffeine has a tightening and stimulating effect on the skin. You often find it in anti-aging products.
  • Sugar- Bad in the body, but great on the outside while it naturally exfoliates. Brown sugar or cane sugar works well and hydrates. You can exchange the sugar for finely ground sea salt if you prefer, but make sure you do not use salt on damaged skin (Ouch!).
  • Vanilla – Because it smells good and is also a powerhouse for skin care. Natural antibacterial to help with stains and antioxidant to help with aging.

This simple scrub smells like a vanilla latte (so the name) and leaves the skin silky. It smells and looks refined, but is incredibly simple and cheap to make.

How to use a coffee scrub + precautions

The use of a scrub is a simple process, but it can be a bit messy! Be careful when you use this in the shower, because it can smooth the floor. You can also put a drain sieve over the tub drain if you are worried about the bushes that hide your drains.

Apply a handful of scrub on wet skin and use circular movements to scrub. Rinse with warm water when you’re done. This works well as a body scrub, but you can also use it as a face scrub to improve fine lines and prevent stains. It even works on the abdominal area to help with stretch marks.

I think the natural ingredients work well for sensitive skin, just don’t scrub super hard. If you really have sensitive skin and notice irritation, stop using it.

Last thoughts on coffee scrubs

I absolutely love how this scrub smells and how it makes my skin feel silky! The use of it in the shower is an aromatic experience that helps me to feel calmer and alert at the same time. It can be made quickly and even makes a great gift.
