The Vancouver Canucks have unveiled their selection For the NHL season 2025-26.

Each team had a deadline yesterday to cut their team to 23 players and announce their official opening night schedule, and the Canucks did this at 12.30 pt

The majority of the attackers mentioned were expected to make the Canucks out of the camp, but the biggest surprise on that list is the 18-year-old forward Braeden Cootes. A first round concept choice in 2025He defeated players who have been in the Canucks organization for several seasons, such as Max Sasson and Nilas Aman.

It is currently unknown whether Cootes stays with the Canucks the entire season or for only a short period. But it is clear that Vancouver was impressed by his capacities and trusted him enough to play him in the first few games this season.

Defenders (7)

Derek Forbort, film Hip Hreek, Quinn Hughes, Pierre-Olive Joseph, Tyler Myers, Eliras Pettersstone and Marcus Petterson

On the defensive side of the ice there were no big surprises of who would be in the schedule of Canucks, but they will have a luxury this season. The defensive depth of Vancouver this season will be one of the biggest strengths.

It is clear that having a former Norris Trophy winner in Quinn Hughes will always help you stay competitive, but Vancouver has a great cast of players outside Hughes to help on the blue line.

Another important boost will be the players who are currently playing in Abbotsford. Both Tom Willander and Victor Mancini are currently playing in the American Hockey League. Yet I believe it is all NHL players who unfortunately could not make the line -up because of a problem with numbers. They are a great depth for Vancouver, and their time will come that an injury is inevitably happening.

Goalkeepers (2):
Thatcher Demko, & Kevin Lankinen

No surprises with these two are the goalkeepers from Vancouver who are on their way to Game One. There are high expectations for both players, because they both received major extensions in the past year.

If both Demko and Lankinen can remain relatively healthy throughout the season, Vancouver could have one of the best goal congestion tandems in the NHL. It is a tandem that can be very useful, come on play -off time, where the Canucks want to be this season.

Vancouver starts their season on Thursday at home against the Calgary Flames and will want a bounce-back season after a disappointing 2024-25.
