Peter Berce: “Finally we had about 90 seconds or a minute. Canucks, I’m sure Canucks fans aren’t happy with the situation over the last two years, but did they do what you thought they would do at the deadline?”
Dave Pagnotta: “No, I thought they were going to move more pieces. It sounded like it was going into the week that it was going to be a foregone conclusion that Conor Garland was being moved, being moved, and that turned out to be true.”
NHL Rumors: Jeff Skinner, San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks
I thought they were moving more guys. Teddy Blueger. There was a lot of interest. They held him. They like him there, so they’re going to give it a try, they’re going to talk about a contract extension with Blueger here at some point now that the deadline is over.
Drew O’Connor generated a lot of interest. Evander Kane, things really slowed down for Kane. They tried to make that happen. They were willing to keep half of his contract, but that didn’t work out.
I didn’t think there was anything close to Brock Boeser, and I wouldn’t be shocked if it stays that way for a while, but it looks like Jake DeBrusk wants out, and that’s also something to keep an eye on this summer. There will definitely be more activity this summer.”
Will the Minnesota Wild explore moving Jesper Wallstedt in the summer?
Dave Pagnotta on the TFP Hotsove on Sirius XM NHL Network Radio stated Saturday that the Minnesota Wild could explore moving Jesper Wallstedt in the summer.

Peter Berce: “Get over here before we start halftime. Minnesota goal position. Pretty stacked. Did (Bill) Guerin ever or were other teams trying to pry (Jesper Wallstedt) away from Minnesota? And if so, was the asking price so high that it just wouldn’t meet the asking price, at least for Bill Guerin?”
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, I don’t think it was anything close in that regard. If they were going to make a move, the Wild were for a top-six caliber guy. And maybe this was for the center position. Maybe this was them, trying to look at the center position and get a legitimate 2C because we know they had their eye on Vincent Trocheck. And then they were out because it didn’t happen.”
NHL Rumors: Rangers, Trocheck, Schmaltz, Hurricanes and a trade came in too late
And then teams weren’t willing to pay the New York Rangers’ price. And Minny made an offer for him a while ago. And then just maintaining that line of communication as the Rangers were trying to see if they could beat that one, and they just didn’t feel comfortable moving Trocheck at all.
Anyway, that being said, I think this is something they will explore in the summer as they have some really, really good pieces on this team. They got (Filip) Gustavsson in the net. There is a possibility for them to move Wallstedt in the summer. In any case, we’re going to explore it.’
