Italian head coach about expectations at world championships
A year after a historic Silver Medal victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Italian team that enters the World Gymnastics Championships 2025 into Jakarta can have a few surprises, says Head coach Enrico Casella.
“Let’s say that these world championships are a bit specific, because in the year after the Olympic Games there is no team event. It is actually a championship that is more individual than something else,” ” Casella explained in a short interview that was placed on the gym specialist Instagram. “Some gymnasts have to rest a bit because they are heavily involved between the Olympic Games and now the Europeans, so we will see.”
Team Italy, says the coach, has a large pool of candidate turners to choose from and their objectives in Indonesia extend to the number of medals.
“Our goals will be different from just getting results,” says Casella.
