This isn’t going to be an in-depth update for anyone who might want them, but I did a few updates on the old blog for things that needed some attention. Even though this blog is approaching the 6650 article mark, today I won’t be talking about the future of this site or what I plan to do next. To be completely honest, I didn’t really think about it, but as I was clicking through a few menu options I noticed that there were things that needed updating. That’s the purpose of this article, so let’s update!
In the menu bar at the top there is a radio section where I have sections for each of the NHL, AHL and ECHL in terms of radio stations that broadcast the games of each of those teams from those respective leagues. I hadn’t looked through those pages in a while, but I clicked on both the NHL and ECHL pages and noticed that two teams were missing from the league listings for radio stations. Updates have been made.
The Utah Mammoths were missing from the NHL list of radio stations, and I still had the Arizona Coyotes on the list. Obviously that can’t happen on HBIC if I have any self-respect, so Arizona was removed and Utah was added. Here are the details for your listening pleasure.
KZNS 1280AM
KZNS 1280AM
KZNS 1280AM
If you haven’t seen those radio station pages I created, I have three options for radio stations, as there are times when some stations don’t offer games, other times when internet streams are shaky, and occasions when some sites hosting the streams are offline. So while it may appear that KZNS 1280AM is listed three times, it is actually three different sites offering the stream.
That of course led me to the ECHL page where there was a brand new expansion team that took the ice this season in the Greensboro Gargoyles, and they too have official radio partners for their games. I’ll be honest: I have yet to listen to a Gargoyles game, but here are your radio options if you want to listen to Gargoyles hockey!
WCOG 1320AM

Before anyone jumps all over me for the banner colors, can I just say how much I hate black in the banner colors? I know Utah has it above, but that’s literally one of the three colors they have in their official branding. Greensboro, meanwhile, had a few different colors besides black, so the purple “Greensboro Grape” and the darker yellow “Greensboro Gold” were the two colors I chose.
In addition to the radio streams, the Teebz library, found under the menu options at the top, will also see some additions, as I’ve cracked open the spines of a stack of books this month. Some of them were required reading because we have guests who want to talk about new books coming up The hockey showbut others are ones I’ve been wanting to read for a while. Stay tuned to Teebz’s Library and this blog for more book reviews on great hockey books!
Speaking of those books, the dropdown in the right menu is now gone for hockey books. Everything will be in the Teebz library, and I went through the entire list I had there to make sure I hadn’t missed any books. I may take a look at the NHLPA charities I listed there, as I have no idea if any of them have ceased operations, but that may be something for a future update article. I should check out the Hockey Blogs section too!
I might add some new sounds to the Soundboard under the menu at the top, because we use those sounds The hockey showbut the stats on the back of this site say a lot of people end up there. I admit there are some crazy and funny things on there, but I need to go through those sounds and figure out if they are appropriate for what we are using them for. Anyway, that’s another future update.
We’ll see what else is updated on this blog in the coming weeks. I’m not saying this blog will go on forever, but I do have things planned for November for now. If events keep coming across my desk that look and sound intriguing, I’ll probably keep writing. For now, these are things that need updating, so keep an eye on this blog!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
