A house in Unley Park has been an incredible place to encourage a family, and now you have the chance to do that, because sellers Sarah Freeman and Frank Kittel say goodbye to the house that Frank has owned for the past 33 years.
Mr. Kittel bought the building in 1992 at 25 Thornber St, attracted by the address and the potential for a large transformation, says Mrs. Freeman.
“We have done a lot for it since then, but it is real, it is on a beautiful large -bowl of land in a fantastic part of Adelaide,” she says.

“Heywood Park is just at the end of the street. Unley RD is on one side and it is a run of 1.5 km to King William RD.
“Our children went to Scotch (college), so it is very conveniently located for not only that, but a number of other schools, and it is a beautiful suburb in the suburbs that is so close to the city.
“It was very different when we bought it. It had the original four front bedrooms and an extensive kitchen and living room, a carport on the side and a swimming pool in the front garden.
“We gave it a fairly large overhaul in 2003, move the swimming pool around the back, dig the basement, built the studio and did a complete renovation through it, while in essence he retained the front four rooms.”
The house now offers five bedrooms, a living room with a bay window; a study, an open kitchen, dining room and living room; An upper floor studio and living room, a basement and an entertaining pavilion outside with a pizza oven with a view of a sparkling buried swimming pool.
“We have five children – Frank had two and then we had three more and it was great for us,” says Mrs. Freeman.
“It was fantastic for entertainment, where we organized 21sts, 18ths and Christmass here.

“The third birthday of our daughter was the year we had just moved back after we had renovated and we decided to throw a big combined birthday, Christmas and home-warming party.
“We had ponies and face painting and we went out completely.
“I think there were probably 150 people in the background, it was great. We had many great times here.”
In addition to beautiful, the house is also extremely functional, says Mrs. Freeman, and is supplied with a 15kW solar system and a battery of 13.5 kW to keep energy costs low.
Because her children have moved or spent less time at home, she says it’s time to reduce and let someone else enjoy it.
“There are many of us at home, so it is understandably sad to say goodbye to it, but I really hope that someone will love it as much as we do,” says Freeman.
Best offers for the house close in the afternoon on 2 September.
