NHL Central Scouting interim rankings for 2026 NHL Draft
NHL Central Scouting Service has released its version 2026 Interim Draft Outlook Rankings on January 12. Two UNH Commits, previously identified as “Players to watch” by Central Scouting, was also on the interim list.
Niko Tournas is ranked as the 81st North American skater eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft. Central Scouting considers Tournas a candidate for selection in the 3rd round. Pavel Martinu is ranked 176th, a potential 6th round pick.
Niko Tournas
In his third year of NHL draft eligibility, Tournas has become a leading scorer in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. In 38 games with the Moncton Wildcats, he scored 26 goals and 19 assists with a +12 rating. Tournas is tied for 11th in QMJHL scoring, tied for 5th in goals and tied for 4th in power play goals (9). His goal-scoring skills include a quick release, as demonstrated in this video clip.

Pavel Martinu
Pavel Martinu is in his first full season of junior hockey and his second year of NHL draft eligibility. In 30 games with the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL), he scored 6 goals and 5 assists with a -4 rating. In the last four games, Martinu has stepped up his attacking play, scoring three goals from eight shots on target plus an assist. In one match he was scored the game winner on this penalty shot.
