The British police say that they will not take any action against the Irish rap group Kneecap after an investigation into comments from its members during a performance at Glastonbury Music Festival last month.

The police launched a criminal investigation of Kneecap performances, as well as Punk-Rap Duo Bob Vylan, which took place one after the other on the West Holts stage of Glastonbury on day four of the 25-29 June festival of 25-29 June.

In May, a member of Kneecap was accused of a terrorist attack because he was said to have shown a Hezbollah flag at an earlier performance.

Hezbollah, the militant group supported by Iran, is forbidden as a terrorist organization in Great Britain.

He denies the violation.

In Glastonbury, the group, based in Belfast, led him to sang against Prime Minister Keir Starmer, while the set of Bob Vylan Chants from “Death to the IDF” included a reference to the Israeli army.

The police of Avon and Somerset said they decided to drop the investigation after consulting the Crown Prosecution Service.

“After that advice, we made the decision not to take any further action on the basis of the fact that there is insufficient evidence to offer a realistic prospect of conviction for a violation,” they said in a statement.

The police said there were still questions about Bob Vylan’s set.

Kneecap said the research was politically motivated.

“Every person who saw our set knew that no law had not been broken, not even close … But the police saw it suitable to publicly announce that they opened an investigation,” the group said on Instagram.
