UFC Vegas 112 Delivers Great Prelims to ESPN Finals!

UFC Vegas 112 Delivers Great Prelims to ESPN Finals!

UFC Vegas 112 fight week is here. This Saturday evening, after seven years, the current slate of UFC events on the ESPN family of networks will end. Just as was the case in January 2019 at the start of the ESPN era, an edition of UFC Fight Night will be the final show in the ESPN era.

The UFC Apex facility, the host venue for UFC Vegas 112 this Saturday night, had yet to open at the time of UFC Brooklyn in 2019. It wouldn’t open until that summer, in time for the third season of Contender series by Dana White held in Enterprise, NV.

For the last time on a Disney-owned platform, at least until the year 2033, live coverage of UFC Vegas 112 kicks off with the undercard at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT. The main card action follows at 10pm ET/7pm PT ESPN+.

If you plan to watch the event via linear television, ESPN2 will air the show live, and if no adjustments are made to the schedule between now and Saturday, 13 fights will make up the final show of 2025.

UFC Vegas 112 Featured Prelim: No. 5 Contender Amanda Lemos vs. No. 10 Contender Gillian Robertson

At the top of the bill for Saturday night’s undercard is a strawweight bout between No. 5 contender Amanda Lemos (15-5-1 MMA, 9-5 UFC) and No. 10 contender Gillian Robertson (16-8 MMA, 13-6 UFC). All fights mentioned herein are three advertised rounds of five minutes per round.

Lemos will make her third walk to the cage in 2025. Last summer, at this year’s version of Noche UFC in San Antonio, she dropped a unanimous decision to Tatiana Suarez (11-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) after three rounds of action. By the time Saturday night rolls around, it will have been exactly three months since Lemos last appeared in the UFC.

Will she get an early Christmas present in the form of a higher place in the rankings at 115? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Gillian Robertson has gone 5-0 in her last five fights. Most recently, 10th-ranked strawweight Marina Rodriguez (17-6-2 MMA, 7-6-2 UFC) knocked out punches in the third round in Des Moines in the spring ahead of her 25th career appearance and 20th UFC appearance.

Lemos was not Robertson’s original opponent for UFC Vegas 112 on Saturday night. She was initially scheduled to face Iasmin Lucindo (18-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) this weekend. before the latter failed a drug test.

How will the change in opponent impact Gillian Robertson’s game plan for UFC Vegas 112? Tune in and find out.

UFC Vegas 112 Simultaneous Preim: Joanderson Brito Vs. Isaac Thomson

Immediately preceding the featured prelim, the co-featured undercard fight takes place at featherweight when Joanderson Brito (17-5-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) takes on Isaac Thomson (9-2 MMA, UFC promotional debut). The former enters the final card of 2025 with a 3-2 record in his last five fights.

He has been a streaky fighter lately and has dropped two bouts in a row. On April 5 at UFC Vegas 105, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Pat Sabatini (21-5 MMA, 8-2 UFC) after 15 minutes of action in that night’s main attraction.

Like Gillian Robertson in the main event, Joanderson Brito is also dealing with a change of opponent for UFC Vegas 112. Initially, Brito was booked for the fight against Melsik Baghdasaryan (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) on Saturday night. He had to withdraw for unknown reasons.

Will Brito stop the skid this weekend? On the other side, Isaac Thomson will make his first walk into the Octagon this Saturday on the strength of a 4-1 record over the course of his last five appearances. He has won three fights in a row.

A few months ago, he scored a split-decision victory over Akbarjon Islomboev (10-2 MMA) in the main event of the evening at LFA 219. Thomson only recently accepted this fight, so will his brief defeat result in a victory?

UFC Vegas 112: Neil Magny vs. Yaroslav Amosov

Also on the UFC Vegas 112 undercard, the welterweights compete when Neil Magny (31-13 MMA, 24-12 UFC) takes on Bellator MMA alumnus Yaroslav Amosov (28-1 MMA, UFC promotional debut). Magny enters the weekend with a 3-2 mark in his last five games dating back to January of last year.

On September 27, he submitted Jake Matthews (22-8 MMA, 15-8 UFC) with a D’arce choke during the third round of their fight at UFC Perth. This was his second victory in a row.

Magny has had an active second half of 2025, fighting twice in less than 60 days. Will he end 2025 with a third win in a row?

In the other corner, Yaroslav Amosov will make his 30th career appearance and his first under the UFC promotional banner with a 4-1 record in his last five fights. After being inactive for all of 2024, he returned to Cage Fury Fighting Championships on March 14, defeating Curtis Millender (21-12, 1 NC MMA) via first-round submission due to anaconda choke at CFFC 140 on UFC Fight Pass.

This was a rescheduling of a canceled fight in Willowbrook, Illinois from the scrapped Fightality: Legacy card. Don’t be fooled by his lack of activity in the cage lately: he’s a very difficult customer in the shop on any fight night.

Rest of the preliminaries

The preliminary rounds of UFC Vegas 112 conclude with the following fights:

  • a heavyweight bout featuring Sean Sharaf (4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) against Steven Asplund (6-1 MMA, UFC promotional debut)
  • a women’s bantamweight bout between Luana Santos (9-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Melissa Croden (7-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC)
  • a heavyweight bout that pairs Allen Frye (6-0 MMA, UFC promotional debut) with Guilherme Pat (5-0 MMA, UFC promotional debut)
  • and a women’s flyweight bout against Tereza Bleda (7-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Jamey-Lyn Horth (8-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC).
