Round one of the UFC Vegas 109 Co-Headliner starts and Ode Osbourne is going to work quickly. He lands a low staircase and then a staircase to the ribs. Steve Erceg is struggling very early with the speed of Ode. ‘Astro Boy’ forces the clinch and pushes Osbourne against the cage. A good knee from Erceg. He lands another. Osbourne steps out of the cage and then pushes Erceg against the cage in the same position. The hunters break and we are now back to reach in the middle of the cage. Steve Erceg with a nice shot. He goes high with a kick that partially connects. Osbourne shakes his finger as if he wants to say no. A good body kick from Osbourne. Erceg resists a hard right hand. He shoots on a Takedown, but can only press Ode Osbourne against the cage. ‘The Jamaican sensation’ breaks freely but eats a body kick on the way out. A nice directly from Osbourne. Erceg is looking for a single leg, but it’s not there. Osbourne with a shot against the body. Steve Erceg loads a flurry and dives on a Takedown that is not there. The horn sounds and we go to round three.
The third and final round of the UFC Vegas 109 Co-Main event starts and it can very well be one round each. Ode Osbourne comes out aggressively and lands a beautiful left hook. Steve Erceg answers with a main kick that is partially blocked. A nice 1-2 from ‘Astro Boy’. He seems to have found his reach after a poor opening round. A good directly from Osbourne. Erceg with a 1-2. He is looking for a single leg, but it’s not there. A beautiful right hook from Ode Osbourne. The Aussie answers with one of his own. Big shots in the bag by both men. Erceg dives on a double leg and gets it. He goes to half the guard and has 2 and a half minutes to work. Steve Erceg goes to full mountain. Osbourne seems to be scrambling but gives up his back. ‘Astro Boy’ locks a body triangle and is looking for a choke. Ode explodes and can get up again in one way or another. ERCEG immediately strives to go back to the floor and is now in the entire mountain again. He goes backwards after a scrambling. He locks up a choke, but survives Ode to hear the last horn.
