Page has not been seen in action since August. He defeated Jared Cannonier in a middleweight fight and it will ultimately go down in history as his last fight of 2025. “Venom” had two fights this year, and that number is not unusual when you look at Page’s history.
Still, “MVP” insists he isn’t too happy with the lack of opponents on the table. Appears on the Podcast “Shxts ‘n’ Gigs”.Page suggested that the UFC matchmakers might stop him (via MMA Junkie).
“I’m in two divisions. I said I want to play welterweight,” Page said. “I did a middleweight fight with Shara ‘Bullet’ on a whim – I didn’t mind. Then I thought, ‘Okay, give me a welterweight fight.’ No one is available. “Okay, give me another middleweight fight.” They gave me another middleweight fight (against Cannonier). Cool. “Give me a welterweight fight.” No one is available. How come no one is available? This is literally what I get back.
“(I said), ‘Okay, this guy.’ I’m not kidding: there was a fight recently. Quite a few welterweights performed. He just won a fight in spectacular fashion. I messaged (the matchmakers): ‘That’s a great fight for me in London.’ “Oh, we have plans for him.” The man just stepped out of the cage. I’ve been busy for months and you have no plans for me, but you do for him? Something is going on.”
Page has gone 3-1 since joining the UFC. He has defeated Cannonier, Sharabutdin Magomedov and Kevin Holland. Page’s only UFC loss came against Ian Machado Garry via unanimous decision in a competitive fight in June 2024.
As Page mentioned, he has moved up from welterweight to middleweight. It seems like the weight class doesn’t matter to ‘Venom’ as he just wants to secure his next fight.
