Jimmy Crute and Ivan Erlan served as a Co-Main event of UFC Perth on Saturday, thanks to an injury that forced Junior Tafa off the map.
The Perth Fight Night event had taken several hits, which led to an improved Cruter, who came from a victory over Rodolfo Bellato and took on the 0-2 KSW fat Erslan.
Crute landed a Takedown early in Saturday’s opening round, and while Erlan rose again, he had a problem: he ended up like a backpack. Crute would eventually sweep when they went to the ground and went to the mount. Then it was cruilding to take your back and work to flatten Erla. He didn’t even have to do this completely, instead in the neck, arms under the chin. Erlan seemed to be in a serious discomfort and was quickly forced to tap!
Since the return of a hiatus earlier this year, Jimmy Crute is now unbeaten by three fights, with a 2-0-1 record. With the Erslan victory on UFC Perth, he has won back-to-back fights for the first time since 2020.
Announced as a coded choke, when he had to call the entry by Paul Felder, Crute replied: “I don’t know, but I love it!” In February, Crute called for a place on a still too announced map in Sydney, Australia.
Official result: Jimmy Crute Def. Ivan Erslan by entry (coded choke), round 1, 3:19
