Cameron Rowston made his promotion debut at UFC Perth and took on Andre Petroski in middleweight action in the RAC Arena.
Nicknamed the “Battle Giraf”, Rowston had gone 1-1 in two Contender Series-Stints, earned his contract earlier this year and made the rapid change to appear at home in Australia for his first walk to the Octagon.
The fight was started with Petroski who was looking for Rowston’s long legs. Rowston was composed and searched for his place because he did a nice knee for the body. While the round went on Rowston, it became looser and mixed his hands and stairs. Petroski went in to get something back, but Rowston landed a check left hook that dropped him. Petroski threatened with the arm bar, but Rowston landed a large soil and pound sent the referee.
After the victory, the towering middle weight noted that years ago another famous middleweight had made its UFC debut in Perth – Israel Adesanya, who happened to be present for the performance. Rowston then cuts a promo and suggests that fans are now boarding his train, because he goes directly to the top. A memorable one who comes out for the DWCS aluin.
Official result: Cameron Rowston def. Andre Petroski by Tko (Ground and Pound), Round 1, 2:41
