UFC Paris: William Gomis turns back to debut Robert Ruchala

KSW Vederweight and former champion Robert Ruchala made his promotion debut in UFC Paris and took on his own William Gomis of France.

The Polish star was one of the four major debut at night and would have been one of the five if Losene Keita had not missed a weight.

Gomis opened the fight with a heavy kickboxing approach, shot body shovels and long strikes. Ruchala reacted in kind, threw his own stairs and loaded ahead with volume. Gomis’ footwork enabled him to slide out the most early blitzes, but when Ruchala closed the distance, he assured a clean body-lock Takedown. The check was short -lived because Gomis quickly clambered back to his feet. With his back on the cage, Gomis absorbed some pressure before he broke loose and digs in a sharp staircase to the body. In the last minute, Gomis continued to focus on the belly with stairs, with the momentum built when the round ended.

Round two started with both fighters who immediately exchanged stairs. Gomis found openings with body shots, while Ruchala continued to look for removal to drag the fight to close. At one point Gomis caught a staircase and went against a fresh right hand. Ruchala remained dedicated to the grinding, muscle gomis to the fence and eventually hit a journey to put it on his back. From the upper position, Ruchala worked with heavy head pressure and short bumps to the ribs, but Gomis remained compiled and shot at the cage and worked back at his feet in front of the horn. Just before the bell, Gomis unleashed a rotating body stick and even shot high with an attempt from the head.

In the final round, Gomis returned to his long -distance weapons, including Jabs, Teeps and Lage Steps, although nothing landed clean early. He well -mixed goals, which forced ruchala by damage to come in. Ruchala continued to hunt the body with nude rear stairs and clinch dangements, but Gomis prevailed with legs and straight shots when he reset to reach. Halfway, Ruchala surprised him with a main kick that wrapped and flushed around the guard, giving him an increase in the momentum. Gomis immediately replied back and broke with a left hand that visibly bewildered ruchala. Gomis smelled the moment and shot in himself and scored a Takedown to seal the fight.

The score cards had it in favor of Gomis, making him a unanimous decision.
