Is Jack della Maddalena not respected before UFC 322?
Maddalena is planned to put the UFC Welterweight Championship at stake when he met Islam Makhachev on November 15. Makhachev has the chance to win UFC Gold in a second weight class. He gave distance from the lightweight title in a bid for 170 pound hardware.
Makhachev is open like a decent gambling favorite for the matchup. During an interview with Bloody elbowUFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping admitted that he does not feel that the oddmakers Maddalena give enough credit (H/T Inappropriate).
“The strange thing is that Islam Makhachev is a pretty big favorite, and I think that is a bit disrespectful for Jack della Maddalena,” said Bisping Bloody Elbow. “The man on an 18-field win racing, he only defeated Belal Muhammad, he defended all the Takedowns there, he has previously defeated grapplers.
“Yes, Islam Makhachev is incredible, and he would be another competition for Pound-for-Pond No. 1, the best of all time, whatever you want to call it. But Belal Muhammad was a perfect warm-up fight for Islam Makhachev.”
Maddalena’s coach Ben Vickers is determined that his hunter Makhachev can cut on the chin at a certain moment to stop the fight. Vickers also does not believe that Makhachev’s Kin can keep it, as well as those of Belal Muhammad. Maddalena defeated Muhammad through a unanimous decision to conquer the UFC Welterweight Championship in May.
Makhachev’s own camp has said that the title fight against Maddalena will not be an easy task. Nevertheless, the team expects that Makhakevet will still add a piece of UFC gold to its cloak.
Maddalena vs. Makhachev will be held in Madison Square Garden in New York City. It will not be the only title fight on the map, because Valentina Shevchenko will put the UFC Ladies Flyweight Championship at stake against former straw weight holder Zhang Weili.
