Tim Elliott ended an extensive dismissal from UFC 319, where he hired the recent challenger of the flight weight and former Rizin champion Kai Asakura to start the PPV card in Chicago.
Asakura was submitted in December by champion Alexandre Pantoja on UFC 310 and received a colleague -for the past -publishing in Elliott.
In the first half of the first round, Asakura found a home before his right hand, and Elliott tagged at least once. The attack was usually one -sided by the frame, with asakura that ran down Elliott and Tim retreated, occasionally prevented a kick or threw. Asakura landed partly with a main kick in the last minute, landed more on the neck, but Elliott caught that on the exit and could convert the Takedown.
Round two was competitive early, but as the round progressed, Elliott was able to get the fight down. And from his back, Asakura seemed to accept the position and close his guard. Elliott was now able to lock up a guillotine and sink it deep towards the end of the round. With seconds that were gone, Asakura either survived through the skin of his teeth, for a tick, or asakura went out. It certainly didn’t seem like he would escape, and he didn’t. Asakura was forced to tap, and that Elliott dates his second consecutive victory from December 2023.
Official result: Tim Elliott Def. Kai asakura by submission (guillotine choke), round 2, 4:39
