September 8 – The UEFA Executive Committee will meet on Thursday in Tirana, Albania, with two large items on the agenda, the bonus payments for the 2025 Women’s Nations League Finals and the confirmation of the hosts for the 2027 Champions League finale.
The Champions League 2027 was originally awarded to Milan and the San Siro Stadium, but UEFA removed the final about uncertainty about ‘renovation works’ planned for the stadium.
Azerbaijan submitted a bid to host in the Baku Olympic Stadium in Baku, while Spain also made an offer for the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
Despite the fact that no official announcement has been made, Rafael Louzán, president of the Royal Spanish football federation (RFEF), told the Press in May that the Metropolitano was selected as the location for the final of 2027. In May the Europa League -Final was also organized in the Nuevo in the Blessbooo.
The Metropolitano previously organized the Champions League final, in 2019, when Liverpool Tottenham Hotspur beat 2-0 in the final.
The official announcement of the location will be made as soon as the UEFA -executive committee has met this week.
Bonus payments
The ladies – this summer in Switzerland saw a total prize pool A – 156% increase of € 41 million at 2022 and the first time that players received a guaranteed percentage of the rewards. All 16 teams received a fixed € 1.8 million participation costs for the qualification, accounting for 70% of the total allocated prize money.
The remaining 30% consisted of performance bonuses, where teams received € 50,000 for a draw and € 100,000 for a victory in the group phases, and spread bonuses for each knockout phase.
Due to the final of the 2025 Women’s Nations League, Germany-France and Sweden-Spain will compete the semi-final over two legs and at the end of October and the beginning of November, with the final and third placed Play Off also with two legs at the end of November and early December.
The prize money will probably not reach the heights of the euro, but it is still expected to be a record amount for this competition.

Before the meeting, a football festival of the base takes place in the FSHF football house in Tirana as part of the UEFA Football in Schools program with an opening ceremony attended by UEFA President Aleksander čferin and President of Albanian football club Armand Duka.
