MATCH 5 WILDCARD

GOALKEEPS

It can be difficult to find two goalkeepers who rotate perfectly until matchday 8, but Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi (€4.6 million) and Napoli Vanja Milinković-Savić (€4 million) fit together seamlessly for a total amount of €8.6 million.

Both play for strong defensive sides and both offer excellent long-term fixtures, making them a reliable combination for managers who plan ahead.

DEFENDERS

Doubling Napoli’s defense with Alexander Good morning (€3.8 million) could be a smart move. He helps free up funds across the squad, and when fit – which he is now – the Italian is a nailed-on starter at the heart of the backline.

Newcastle have performed brilliantly defensively this season, keeping three clean sheets in their four games. Combine that with strong matches in the long term and the extra goal threat of Then Burns (€4.8 million), and he will be a standout budget option.

PSG appear to be past the toughest part of their schedule, and with both Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi doubtful for the upcoming round, many UCL Fantasy managers can settle for the reliable minutes of Willian Pacho (€5 million).

Juventus also has a favorable series. Although their form is inconsistent, matches often deliver results Pierre Over (€4.5 million) seems the safest option for regular minutes in their defense.

The prospects for a clean slate appear limited across the board, making a cheap and efficient backline even more attractive. One player who fits that strategy perfectly is Dortmund’s central defender Waldemar Anton (€4 million), who will benefit from two strong home games in prospect.

MIDFIELDERS

PSG’s upcoming schedule looks favorable from both a defensive and attacking perspective. With that in mind – and considering his two double-digit wins in just three games – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€8.1 million) could develop into an excellent long-term choice.

Securing at least one premium midfield spot feels important for future flexibility, which is one of the many reasons to include the brilliant player Lamine Yamal (€9.9 million). Barcelona are ruthless going forward and Yamal remains their most reliable option for minutes.

With Bodo/Glimt and Pafos on the horizon, it makes sense to secure a piece of the Juventus attack. Their most striking player this season was Türkiye international Kenan Yildiz (€6.7m), which has become central to everything they do in the final third.

With Victor Osimhen injured, investing in a Galatasaray striker could be hugely beneficial, especially with USG and Monaco leading the way. Barış Alper Yılmaz (€5 million) emerges as the best option. Its price also plays a big role in why it fits so well in this build.

Completing the midfield is Michael Olise (€8.2 million). The lack of compelling alternatives in this category is notable, so sticking with the reliable Frenchman – even with Arsenal next – has many advantages. His matches improve immediately afterwards, giving him a smart long-term hold.

FORWARD

With so few premium attackers in strong form, Erling Haaland (€10.7 million) seems almost essential. The Norwegian has been ruthless for Manchester City this season and looks crucial for the captaincy on Matchday 5.

The same goes for Kylian Mbappe (€10.8 million). He is one of the best performing strikers in Europe this season and like Haaland, he leads the line for his team and takes penalties, giving him multiple routes to points.

The last forward slot is more difficult. Instead of doubling Bayern’s attack in a tough match against Arsenal by selecting Harry Kane, managers could turn to the Dortmund club. Serhou Guirassy (€8.2 million). He benefits from two favorable home games and offers strong short-term potential. There is also enough money in the bank to switch Guirassy to Kane before matchday 5 or 6, if necessary.
