U.S. National Sled Team Wins IPH Cup Championship

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic – Declan Farmer (Tampa, Florida) scored twice and goaltender Griffin LaMarre (Haverhill, Massachusetts) posted a shutout to help the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team achieve victory IPH Cup 2025 championship with a 3-0 win over Canada here today (October 26) at the Ostravar Arena. “I thought this was a great way to end this tournament, a really solid effort from start to finish tonight,” he said David Hof (Bottineau, ND), head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. “From goalkeeping to all the way up front we played a very solid game and hopefully that is the start of a very strong season.”Malik Jones (Aurora, Colo.) opened the scoring 9:17 into the game as the U.S. came up short, intercepting an attempted breakout pass in the slot and firing the puck past Canadian netminder Corbin Watson for what turned out to be the winning goal. Team USA doubled its lead at the 7:38 mark of the middle frame when Farmer beat Watson with a deke and tucked the puck home from just outside the crease on a feed from Jac Wallace (Franklin Lakes, NJ) on the power play. Farmer scored into an empty net in the final minute to make the final 3-0. LaMarre stopped all twelve shots he faced on goal for the US.NOTES: The USA defeated Canada 27-12… Team USA was 1-4 on the power play, while Canada was 0-5… Jos Pauls (Green Brook, NJ) was named U.S. Player of the Game… Team USA has won all four IPH Cup championships since its inaugural tournament in 2022.
