Tyrese Haliburton has connected his high school to a PUMA Hali 1 PE

Tyrese Haliburton continues to show off PUMA Hali 1 styles, this time on Instagram wearing a PE made for his alma mater, Oshkosh North High School, which he led to a state championship in 2018.

The infamous NBA poll that labeled Haliburton as the NBA’s most overrated player, followed by Indiana’s deep playoff run full of big performances, served as a reminder not to poke the bear. But the warning signs were there long before last season. In 2018, Haliburton, a then-high school student, was taunted with chants of “weight room” during the state championship game. He responded by dropping 30 points to lead Oshkosh North to victory, including 23 in the second half.

The PUMA Hali 1 “Oshkosh North” PE features Haliburton’s high school jersey number 14 on the tongue, a number the school retired in 2022. The sneaker comes in a multi-colored green colorway that matches the Spartans’ uniforms, complete with a dark-to-light gradient along the midsole. Haliburton personally delivered the pairs to the Oshkosh North boys and girls basketball teams, and it appears they are already lacing them up in games.

There are currently no plans to release these publicly, although high school-inspired basketball drops do exist in some capacity (see the Nike Kobe 5 “Lower Merion Aces”). Enjoy detailed images of the shoes below and head over to our Sneaker Release Dates page to check out upcoming hoops releases.
