Tyler Glasnow reacts to impressive 2026 Cactus League debut.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow spoke Thursday about what it felt like to be on the mound after his solid Cactus League debut in 2026.

Glasnow pitched in the third inning against the Chicago White Sox, retiring the first six batters he faced and striking out four. He allowed a single in the third before coming out, and after the runner finally crossed the plate he received the earned run.

“I just took what I did last year this spring and stuck with it,” Glasnow said. “Normal build-up, it felt good.

“…I think I’m in such a good place mechanically since last year. I’ll take it into the offseason where it’s just a seamless transition from the offseason to the inseason.”

Glasnow is one of the Dodgers’ top pitchers, and manager Dave Roberts expects him to handle a normal workload from the start.

“If I had to look at guys that I feel really good about right now, to have a normal workload, Tyler and Roki would be at the top with Yamamoto,” said Roberts.

How important is Tyler Glasnow to the rotation?

Over the past two seasons, Glasnow has been one of the Dodgers’ most consistent pitchers while healthy.

He made his first All-Star Game in 2024 and posted a 3.49 ERA through 22 starts. He struckout 168 batters in 134 innings, but was on the injured list for an extended period of time due to right elbow tendonitis.

Glasnow had an even better year in 2025, posting a 3.19 ERA with the Dodgers, but suffered a shoulder injury early in the season that kept him out until July. However, he came back strong from the injury and played a key role in the postseason with a 1.69 ERA over six appearances, while also recording his first MLB save in the World Series.

If the right-hander can stay healthy through the 2026 season and continue to throw like he did in his first appearance of the new year, he will be one of the Dodgers’ most effective pitchers next season and a key part of their rotation.

Do you think Tyler Glasnow can make his second All-Star Game with the Dodgers this season?
