The Warriors earned their fourth straight win on Wednesday afternoon, posting a 59-56 victory over Princeton at Jadwin Gym.

Merrimack trailed by two in the final minute Tye Dorset buried a three-pointer to give the Warriors a one-point lead. Dorset returned to the line on the next possession and calmly extended the margin to three with a pair of free throws.

Freshman Dylan Veillette sealed it in the final seconds, blocking a late shot and securing the rebound to seal the victory.

Once again, the Warriors relied on a balanced attacking approach. Ernest Shelton led the way with 16 points, while Kevair Kennedy added 14 and Dorset scored 11.

“What a great road win. Not many people have come to this gym in the last 50 years and left with a W,” Merrimack coach said Joe Gallo said. “We could have folded when Princeton took its first lead of the second half with about four minutes left. But we made some stops, executed and made our free throws. That’s a sign of what a very good team can be.”

Kennedy added six rebounds and four assists, and Dorset contributed three steals on the defensive end.

The Warriors improved to 6-6 overall (4-6 in non-conference play) and will continue their three-game road swing Sunday afternoon in Vermont.
