The latest England squad was announced on Friday, including three players from Newcastle United.
Thomas Tuchel is in his final two World Cup qualifiers, although England have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The England squad announcement (see below) included Nick Pope, Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn among those called up for the November games.
England vs Serbia at Wembley on Thursday 13 November, with kick-off at 7.45pm. Then it is the kick-off between Albania and England on Sunday, November 16 at 5 p.m.
However, two of Newcastle United’s three players have now been forced to withdraw from the England squad.
Eddie Howe confirmed after the 3-1 defeat at Brentford that Anthony Gordon had withdrawn from the national team due to a mild hip problem against Athletic Bilbao.
While Nick Pope was forced off for the match against Brentford, with Aaron Ramsdale coming on as a concussion substitute, United made a total of six substitutions.
With concussion protocols having to be followed, Pope will not be involved with England this month.
Dan Burn is the only Newcastle United player to remain in England, but he will hardly be in a better mood than the other two. Burn was given a red card and a penalty that put Brentford 2-1 ahead, even though it appeared there was zero/minute contact and the Brentford player threw himself to the ground.

The England senior squad that will play Serbia and Albania in the final round of the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers has been announced.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel has selected a 25-man squad for the matches, which start against Serbia on Thursday, November 13 (7.45pm GMT) against Serbia at the EE-connected Wembley Stadium, before the Three Lions head to Tirana to play Albania on Sunday, November 16 (5.45pm GMT).
England sealed their place at next summer’s tournament in North America last month following their 5-0 win over Latvia in Riga, and Tuchel will now be looking to finish on a flourish and refine his squad with this year’s remaining matches.
There is a return to the squad for Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Adam Wharton, while Nick Pope is back among the goalkeepers.
And there is a first senior call-up for AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, who has impressed Tuchel with his performances in the Cherries’ midfield this season, having also been a key player for the England MU21s during their U21 EURO success in the summer.
Tickets are still available for the match against Serbia.
