Table Tennis England has appointed two non-executive drivers, which strengthens the board in important skills, experience, knowledge and diversity.
The new directors are Leanne O’Leary and Paul Bishop. In accordance with the code for sports management, the duration of their positions is four years. A period of four years can be operated.
Leanne is a university lecturer and double qualified lawyer in Nieuw -Zeeland and England/Wales. She practiced in labor law for a multinational law firm before she completed a PhD in sports law and moved to the academic world.
Leanne is an expert in arbitration and mediation. She was a member of the Sport Resolutions Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators in London between 2012 and 2022, is a member of the Premier League Judicial Panel in London and is arbitrator at the court of arbitration for sport in Lausanne.
Leanne is volunteer for various sports organizations in Ireland and the United Kingdom, including as a non-executive director for Sport Dispute Solutions Ireland.
Paul, a chartered accountant and financial professional, and was intent in running Woodford Wells TTC, was co -opted by the board in February. He has now been formally confirmed as director.
After a long executive career in Finance, Paul is now the Senior Independent Director at NHBC within the housing. He is also non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee at both Zurich Assurance and Axaxl UK within the insurance sector.
Table Tennis England -chairman Clare Briegal said: “We are pleased to welcome Leanne on the board and formally confirm Paul’s permanent term of office.
“They add essential skills and experience to the board and ensure that we are in a good position to help sport ahead of the exciting years that come in the coming years.”
