Reported in two separate incidents on Thursday, the Telangana Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) booked two government officials for alleged requirements and accepting to accept bribes in exchange for official favors. The accused includes a deputy Tahsildar from the Siddipet District and an assistant labor officer from Mancherial.

In the first case, Yelagandula Bhavani, a 42-year-old deputy tahsildar was placed at the Tahsildar office in Mulugu Mandal, Siddipet District, booked for demanding £ 2 Lakh of a complainant. The bribery was reportedly demanded on April 24, 2025 in exchange for processing the Pattadar -Pass book of the family member of the complainant. The case is currently being investigated.

In the second incident, Katam Ram Mohan, an assistant work officer from Mancherial and Sirpur Kagaznagar, was arrested in his home while accepting £ 50,000 of a complainant. The amount is said to be demanded for processing and forwarding a casual death claim and funeral impacts with regard to the death of the complainant’s brother, a registered building worker of the construction.

The infected money was recovered and the accused officer was produced before the special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. Further research is underway.

The ACB has encouraged the public to report bribery requirements set by the government employees by calling the free number 1064. Complaints can also be submitted via WhatsApp on 9440446106 or via the social media of the agency on Facebook and X under @telanganaacb. The identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
