Twenty coaches complete level 1 practice in Slovenia < World ParaVolley

Coaches from 9 different countries, spanning European borders, completed their Level 1 coaching certification in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) and added their names to the growing list of those who now hold a World ParaVolley qualification. Twenty coaches, 10 men and 10 women, from different coaching backgrounds came together after completing their Part A e-learning to attend the two-day practice with WPV Coach Tutors Nicole Ban (CAN) and Massimo Beretta (ITA).

All coaches were fully committed to the thorough and wide-ranging program, which includes tactical classroom sessions alongside field activities that focus on everything from the technical side of the game to session planning and building an inclusive coaching environment.

This is the third Level 1 coaching course to be given this year, following the courses in Bogota and Kigali. Plans are still being made for courses next year, but candidates can register here at any time to start e-learning.

The group was joined by eight players from the Slovenian national team on the final day, where each coach had to set a training goal as part of their assessment.

WPV Coach Tutor Nicole Ban said it had been an intense but very enjoyable few days:

“It was great to spend two days with such passionate and dedicated coaches. Some come from national programmes, whilst others have just started playing the sport in their home countries. The group was fantastic and it was a privilege to reward them with their Level 1 certificates!”

As the Level 1 coaches left, certificates in hand, the candidates entered for the Level 2 course which will take place over the next three days, with Ifet Mahmutovic (BIH) joining Nicole Ban to facilitate that practical course – the first Level 2 coaching CTO ever held in Europe.
