Mike Goldman’s house fire has encouraged him to give a grim warning to all Aussies and the government.
TV and radio personality Mike Goldman evokes that all governments adopt stricter smoke alarm laws after they have saved the lives of his family.
Goldman, the voice of the big brother of the Australian Reality Show, and his family slept at 4 o’clock when a fire started in his family house in Queensland.
Goldman, his wife, young son and dog were all unharmed thanks to the smoke detectors that were installed around his house that warn them of the fire.
But his property was not spared, which caused around $ 800,000 $ 1 million in damage and the house was completely unlivable.
Since the shocking event, Goldman warns all the Aussies to control their smoke detectors that he said “has saved his life” and calls on the federal government to make stricter regulations throughout the country.

“It is now the law in Queensland to have smoke detectors in every room,” he said.
“It is amazing that the government cannot save it and not make a law out of it (in every state),” he said.
“I just don’t understand, they have to make it mandatory in every room … people die, I’m lucky.”
He also said that cheap chargers of places such as Shein or Temu are not on the Australian regulations and can also be a fire risk when charged.
Queensland has the strictest requirements for smoke detectors throughout the country and explains that in all corridors, bedrooms and every level, with strict compliance with rental points since January 2022, there must be interconnected smoke detectors and each level.
Shocking, smoke alarm requirements vary between states and Queensland was the only state that required them in every room and was connected.
Goldman said that the fact that the alarms were interconnected was vital to save the lives of his family.
“If they all go off, you know,” he added.

In NSW, Victoria, ACT, Tasmania and SA, only one smoke alarm was required for every level of the house – they are not required in every room and do not have to be connected.
In WA, at a level where bedrooms are separated on both ends of the map, two smoke detectors are required and in the action they had to be interconnected, but only for new houses.
“Governments have to subsidize the way they do with solar energy. With living, families cannot pay new smoke detectors,” Goldman added.
The Cannon Hill Fire Department that Goldman says has made it in “Record Time”.
The cause of the fire was investigated, but officials could not determine what the fire led, with Goldman Warning it could happen to everyone.
“I entered a rabbit hole how it started. We had forensic officers of the fire brigade and the police and everything they could say was that it had something to do with the fuse box,” he said.
“It is now ‘checktember’, so the number one is to check your smoke detectors.

“For years of djing and for hours a headphone on as a radio broadcaster or Big Brother or Meerkat Manor, my hearing is not the best. I have just discovered that I need hearing aids and there is a certain frequency that I don’t hear when I sleep,” he said.
“The best for people who are difficult to hear and young children are 520 Hertz.”
Goldman has now collaborated with Aussie Kidz Charity and Queensland watch smoke detectors to place $ 10,000 in smoke detectors in the houses of families who cannot afford it.
“It is the fact that families with a lower economic background that may not have the money to pay for smoke detectors run a higher risk,” he said.
“The biggest memory for everyone is checking your smoke detectors. They have saved our lives.”
