There is such a wide variety of recipes in Real recipes for slow cooker for food – It works for what you happen to have in your fridge. The recipe that I share with you today is one that really appears to me: Turkey Barbacoa. This simple recipe only takes a few minutes to throw together before it touches the slow cooker. Moreover, it contains some of my favorite savory ingredients such as onions, salt, cumin, turkey drumsticks or thighs and tomatoes. Before you know it, the kitchen is filled with the great scent of this nutritious protein option.

Turkey Barbacoa

- 1 18-essence jar plum tomatoes
- 6 clove garlic, minced meat
- 1 large onion, minced meat
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 1? 2 cups of chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 6 Ancho -peppers, seeds removed or 4 dried pasilla and 4 guajillo -pepper, stem and partial seeds removed
- 4 Turkey drumsticks or 2 turkey drumsticks and 2 turkey moods
- Toast sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Place seeds in a food processor. Heat the pan to medium heat and add tomatoes, garlic, onion and salt.
- Boil, stir occasionally for 5 minutes.
- Transfer this mix to the food processor. Add the chicken broth and cumin.
- After the peppers are sown, place in the food processor and mix until it becomes a sauce.
- Place Turkey in a slow cooker and pour the sauce over it. Cook at low for 6 hours. Remove turkey from the sauce and place in a separate bowl.
- Turkey in a separate plate/bowl and not over the sauce to prevent small bones from falling. Once ready, transfer to the sauce and mix. Cook in the pan to thicken.
I also like to serve this with limes, grain -free or corn portillas and a little hot sauce or salsa. I also like to use the filling to make tacos or to cut my salads. It is a Lean Protein option with a great taste that can bring all your favorite Mexican dishes to the next level. It is not a stress to cook slowly at its best.
Let me know if you try!
