US President Donald Trump will pay an unprecedented second state visit to the UK between 17 and 19 September, when he is organized by King Charles II and Queen Camilla in Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace said Monday.

Trump, a strong proponent of the royal family, in particular of the prince, will be accompanied by his wife, Melania Trump, during the three -day visit, confirmed the palace.

No American president has been invited to a second state visit. Trump previously enjoyed the beauty and pagintry of the state visit in 2019 during his first term when he was organized by Charles’ deceased mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The invitation for the second state visit of the king was handed by hand in February by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a meeting in the White House.

After reading, Trump said that it was a “big, honor” and it seemed particularly satisfied with the fact that he will stay in Windsor Castle, west of the capital. “That’s really something,” he said.

Precentent For the second term US presidents who have already made a state visit, is usually tea or lunch with the prince in Windsor Castle, as was the case for George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

State visits are ceremonial meetings between heads of state that are used to honor friendly countries and sometimes smooth relationships between rivals. While the king formally issues the invitation for a state visit, he does this on the advice of the elected government.

The visit is seen as part of Starmer’s efforts to keep Trump close by and to reduce the impact of some of his UK policy. The relationship between the two seems amicable, and has helped the UK to experience the kind of hefty American rates that other nations see.

But just like Trump’s previous visit, it is unlikely that he will be welcomed by everyone. The last time a day with protests saw the flying of a gigantic blimp who depicted Trump like an angry orange baby from outside parliament.

Starmer’s Labor Party legislators have also wondered whether the honor should be extended to Trump at a time when he supports Israel’s war in Gaza and threatens the sovereignty of allies such as Canada and Greenland.

Charles could also be confronted with some challenges during the visit because he is head of the state of both the United Kingdom and Canada, of which Trump has suggested becoming the 51st US state. During a speech to the Canadian parliament in May, the king emphasized the “unique identity” of Canada and “sovereignty,” while the words of the national anthem of the country echoed when he said, “The true north is indeed strong and free.”

State visits to Groot -Britain are mostly appreciated by heads of state because they come with a complete addition of royal splendor, including military assessments, coach rides and a shimmering state banquet organized by the prince.

The events normally take place in and around Buckingham Palace in Central London. But as last week’s state visit of French President Emmanual Macron and his wife Brigitte, the Trumps will stay in Windsor Castle. Buckingham Palace undergoes extensive remodeling.

President Donald Trump signed “The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act” in the White House on July 4.
