Former FBI director James Comey was charged on Thursday on two federal counts days after president Donald Trump publicly insisted on attorney -general Pam Bondi To pursue persecutions of Comey and other political opponents. Comey has denied misconduct and said he welcomes a process.

Bondi, in a post on X, said”No one is above the law. Today’s indictment reflects the dedication of this Ministry of Justice to keep those who abuse dominant positions responsible for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case.” Bondi, however, abstained from mentioning Comey’s name in the post.
Comey’s preliminary way is planned for October 9 for the American district judge Michael S. Nachmanoff, an appointed 2021 by former President Joe Biden.
